Introduction

Feedback provides mentees with important information about how their behaviour and professional engagement is perceived by others. Providing effective feedback is an important part of the mentoring process. It is vital both for development of the mentee and development of the relationship.

A mentor must employ a variety of skills when providing feedback. Questioning and listening are important elements in giving effective feedback. It is important to consider not only what is said but also the way in which it is given.
